BBb Bass

Terry Hardy

Terry started playing at the age of 8 with the Attercliffe Salvation Army on Eb Bass. He played with them until 1984, before leaving the Salvation Army to pursue his interest in bands other than Salvation Army ones with his youngest son, Robert.

Terry first joined Ecclesfield band on Bb Bass before joining Strata, who were called Ireland Alloys at that time in October 1985. Since then the band as progressed from the third section to promotion to the Championship Section.

‘There have been many highlights in this time but qualifying for the National Finals three times and wininng the first Section Yorkshire area in 2018 is certainly some of my best ones’.

Terry’s favourite test piece Resurgum is what he describes as a proper test piece with a recognisable tune.
