Rory Purvis

Rory’s music life started on the clarinet from the age of about 10. Rory received a diploma at the age of 16 and was a member of the national children’s wind orchestra of great Britain. Since then he as played as he principal clarinet of RNCM symphony orchestra and RNCM opera orchestra.

He performs regularly with The Bavarian Strollers around the country and also plays sax regularly with function bands. Rory’s love for percussion is as his second instrument and when he joined Strata in February 2018 this was his first taste of life in a brass band.

When Rory as any free time he loves to cheer on the mighty Middlesbrough football club. His favourite piece is Year of the Dragon.
